About the Artist

Pieces of my life through my eyes...

 

I am a Pleinair artist, working in oils. My work is a celebration of light filled moments in rich, colourful strokes.

Painting en-pleinair is central to my process but I am equally at home in my studio, or capturing stillife and interior scenes from life.

 

My work reflects the fascinating South African Landscape. I find beauty in ordinary,  intimate scenes and love to paint the truth revealed to me in nature. I want to convey the emotional connection I experience with each scene. Often times it is the simplicity in a moment that will excite me.

 

I have been privileged to learn from so many masterful artists who shared their knowledge unconditionally and I'm completely committed to doing the same. I teach workshops throughout the year and love meeting artists from all over sharing our love for painting. We also run a Art retreat once a year. 

 

My approach is one of simplicity, striving to make every mark count.

 

My inspiration is the fleeting effect of light captured in a moment of time.

 

I see myself as a painter of moments in my life, seen through my eyes.
